Fair enough — but treat the eleventh as only a money house and you miss what actually makes it work: it shows you who is around you when the work pays off. Elder siblings. Friend circles. Vedic astrology groups the third, seventh and eleventh houses as the three kama (desire) houses. The seventh is desire as encounter — the partner, the marriage, the one-to-one meeting. The eleventh is desire as fulfilment — the receiving of what was sought. Every planet aspects the house seventh from itself; Jupiter additionally aspects its 5th and 9th, Mars its 4th and 8th, and Saturn its 3rd and 10th. A Jupiter aspect on your eleventh is one of the warmest configurations in the chart — generous friends, mentors who become income sources. A Saturn or Rahu aspect tends to mean friend circles that take longer to form, sometimes older or international, with a real shift in the thirties and beyond.
One practical, non-classical observation worth adding: the texts were written before LinkedIn and the WhatsApp group. The eleventh's domain has expanded — a strong eleventh in a chart born after 2000 shows up as much in digital professional networks as in the village friend group of the classics. "An empty eleventh means no friends and no money." Several houses are empty in almost every chart, and at least three always are, because the nine grahas cannot fill twelve houses. Look at the Labhesh's placement and any aspects to the house instead.
"Rahu in the eleventh means being cheated by friends." Rahu here is actually one of its better placements — the friend circle may be unconventional and the gains may come from unexpected channels, but that is not the same as fraud.
You don't need years of study to get the basic shape of your own eleventh house. Three questions, in order: What sign is on my eleventh-house cusp, and who rules it? That planet is your Labhesh. Where does that Labhesh actually sit in my chart? That house is the channel your gains tend to flow through. What planets, if any, sit directly in my eleventh house, and are they well placed or afflicted? That tells you the specific texture — Jupiter there reads differently from Saturn there, even though both are described as favorable for gains in classical texts.
Do this before you accept a one-line reading from a friend or an app. "Empty eleventh" or "malefic in the eleventh" means very little on its own — the Labhesh's placement and dignity carries most of the actual information.
